EYEVAN began in 1972 with the concept of “eyewear you can wear.” It received high acclaim overseas and attracted attention from around the world. Among its collections, the pieces made by the craftsmen of the time using the highest level of craftsmanship came to be known as the “EYEVAN CRAFT” series. In 2013, “EYEVAN 7285” was launched with the desire to create the items they truly wanted to make, based on the designs and manufacturing methods of “EYEVAN CRAFT,” while disassembling and reconstructing its components.
Building on the craftsmanship that has continued since that time, all planning, design, and manufacturing are carried out in Japan. The brand name 7285 was strongly influenced by the products and concepts created between EYEVAN’s establishment in 1972 and its international debut in 1985. It was chosen as a tribute to carry on that spirit and express respect for its heritage.

The design source was a pair of sunglasses worn in the 1990s by a member of a British rock band admired by the design team. It features an oval shape symbolic of the era and wide metal temples. The rims use “TV-RIM,” inspired by cathode-ray-tube televisions, with 0.2 mm-pitch lines running along the sloped inner sections—a detail that showcases exceptional technical skill. The sunglasses feature original “4-curve lenses” made in Japan from glass, with their color carefully formulated by blending metal particles and other materials, then molded one by one after melting.
