EYEVAN began in 1972 with the concept of “eyewear you can wear.” It earned high praise overseas and attracted attention from around the world. The products made by the artisans of that era using their finest techniques came to be known as the “EYEVAN CRAFT” series. In 2013, “EYEVAN 7285” was launched with the desire to create the things they truly wanted to make, based on the designs and manufacturing methods of “EYEVAN CRAFT,” while dismantling and reconstructing its components.
Carrying on the craftsmanship that has continued since that time, all planning, design, and manufacturing are carried out in Japan. The brand name 7285 was strongly influenced by the products and concepts created between EYEVAN’s establishment in 1972 and its global debut in 1985. The name was chosen to carry on that spirit and express respect for its heritage.

The design source was sunglasses worn in the 1990s by a member of a British rock band admired by the design team. Distinctive features include an oval shape symbolic of that era and wide metal temples. The rims incorporate “TV-RIM,” inspired by cathode-ray tube televisions. The sloped inner rim features lines at 0.2 mm intervals, showcasing the brand’s exceptional technical expertise. The sunglasses use original Japanese-made glass “4-curve lenses,” whose color is custom-mixed with metal particles and other materials, then molded individually after melting.
An original case and cleaner are included.
