The denim is broken down once before being finished.
The indigo denim is bleached, stripping away its color and memory, then layered with a black coating.
At first, all you see is black.
But as it is worn, the black gradually wears away, and the indigo beneath slowly begins to return.
It looks like leather, but it is not leather. Nor is it ordinary denim.
This series does not create a “finished form.”
It is built around the process of continual change itself.
The jacket is the style in which this treatment comes through most honestly.
It has a broad surface and numerous seam lines. As a result, neither the way the color remains nor the way it wears away is uniform.
The more it is worn, the more indistinct the boundary between black and indigo becomes, and the more its character continues to develop.
