WWⅡ Work Trousers
— 10oz Selvedge Denim —
These trousers are made from lightweight 10-ounce selvedge denim.
The warp yarns are rope-dyed indigo, while the weft is gray, creating a nuanced, deep color tone while retaining a sense of lightness.
For the black version, sulfur-dyed black warp yarns are paired with an off-white weft, resulting in a look that does not feel heavy.
While maintaining a moderate firmness, the fabric develops natural wear patterns and fading through repeated wear and washing,
offering a light, refined evolution over time that differs from that of heavyweight denim.
At first glance, they appear to be authentic painter pants.
Look more closely, however, and you will notice overlapping stitches and side-seam felled stitching visible on the outside,
with details throughout that might reasonably make you wonder, “Wait, is this a second-quality item?”
To expose the selvedge, which would normally be concealed,
we deliberately removed the folder attachment used for felled seams during sewing.
It is a design that can make a factory’s job difficult, but fully aware of that,
cantáte added its own distinctive twist by finishing all 100 pairs “as if they were second-quality items.”
The zipper uses a vintage-style bell-shaped TALON.
The silhouette features a deeper rise and a straight leg that falls cleanly and decisively.
Rolling them up to reveal the selvedge is another pleasure unique to these trousers.
“Where did you find those vintage pants?”
When someone asks, please answer with pride.
They look vintage, yet exist nowhere else.
That is what makes this pair special.
This pair of painter pants is also featured in our BLOG. Please take a look.
