Atto Vannucci (pronounced Atto Vannucci), the tie brand created by Sevenfold Co., founded in Florence, Italy, in 2011 by Kenji Kaga.
The brand is best known for its “Sette Pieghe” construction, made by using a square piece of fabric nearly twice the size of a standard tie and folding it seven times without interlining.
Rather than using interlining to create its shape, the fabric itself is folded over and over to produce thickness and dimension. Light as a scarf and soft enough to tie with ease, it nevertheless creates natural volume from the knot through the V-zone.
Every step is completed entirely by hand by skilled artisans.
From the fine stitching to the way the fabric is folded and settled, each detail is shaped by hand, resulting in a soft fullness and a sense of depth unavailable in an ordinary three-fold tie.
For this release, we created a two-color panel stripe exclusively for cliché.
It is made from 100% silk.
The way its luster appears changes with the light and viewing angle, further accentuating the soft, dimensional character unique to Sette Pieghe construction.
The width, height, and placement of the stripes were adjusted down to the finest detail, creating a balance that looks, at first glance, like a solid tie when the jacket is buttoned.
Open the jacket and the stripes emerge; button it and the tie appears quietly understated.
This is a Sette Pieghe made for cliché, allowing its character to change according to how you shape the V-zone.
