A Chester coat made from Super 120’s wool and constructed using reversible sewing.

The fabric is carefully brushed and fulled repeatedly, bringing out the softness and smoothness inherent in Super 120’s wool.

The garment is constructed using reversible sewing, treating two layers of fabric as one.
By opening the seam allowances and sewing with an equal amount of ease on both sides of the fabric, it is possible to create a soft silhouette in a substantial fabric without allowing the seam allowances to show through prominently.

In conventional reversible sewing, straight sections are often sewn by machine for efficiency, but every straight section of this coat is hand-felled.
It takes time, but by minimizing firm seams wherever possible, we ensure they do not interfere with the fabric’s inherent softness and drape.

The pockets are constructed by hand in the same way.
The pockets are deliberately made without buttons so that the handwork can be seen naturally, another distinctive feature of this coat.

When worn, it is surprisingly light despite its visual volume.
At the same time, because the fabric has substantial body, its hem creates a broad, slow-moving drape as you walk.

Rather than thinning the fabric to make it lighter, the construction allows it to be worn lightly.
