Rough Flannel Shirt 〔GREEN BASE〕

“Loose twist” yarn, made by twisting the fibers gently, and “loose weave,” woven without packing the warp and weft threads too tightly.

This brushed cotton flannel shirt is finished to retain as much air as possible, from the spinning of the yarn through the weaving of the fabric.

When tightly twisted yarn is woven at high density, the fabric becomes firm and its lines more clearly defined.
This fabric takes the opposite approach. By loosening both the yarn twist and the weave, it leaves room for the cotton itself to swell softly and fully.

Brushing the reverse side allows air to collect within that fullness, combining lightness with warmth.
The side that touches the skin is soft as well, making the fabric comfortable to wear directly over a T-shirt.

The check pattern is classic, but because the yarn itself has volume, the lines do not appear overly sharp.
The slightly blurred outlines overlap with the shadows created by the brushed surface, creating a dimensional character that feels subtly broken-in despite being new.

The chest pocket is cut on the bias in relation to the check pattern.
Rather than adding bold decoration, we created a subtle accent simply by changing the direction of the pattern.

It has the warmth characteristic of a flannel shirt without becoming heavy or stiff.
A soft check shirt made by leaving room in both the yarn and the weave.
