Silk Linen Forestiere Jacket 〔NOIR〕

A Forestière jacket made with silk for the warp and French linen for the weft.

The Forestière is one of the jackets emblematic of ARNYS, the French maison once spoken of alongside “Arnys on the Left Bank, Hermès on the Right Bank.”

It carries the refinement of a tailored jacket, yet feels a little freer, with something closer to an easy outer layer.
We reconstructed that distinctive presence through cantáte’s own choice of materials and construction.

The fabric uses silk for the warp and French linen for the weft.
By intentionally weaving it with a looser construction, we avoid making the fabric rigid, allowing the smoothness of silk and the lightness of linen to create a soft drape.

The underside of the collar, buttonholes, pocket piping, and elbow patches are made from fine, supple Entre Fino lamb suede.

Rather than exposing leather across the entire garment, it is placed so that it appears only subtly as the jacket moves—when the collar is turned back or a hand slips into a pocket. Layering different materials in these details gives depth to an otherwise simple jacket.

The cuffs are designed to be worn folded back.
Worn unfolded, the jacket remains quietly monochromatic; folded back, the inner color appears, creating a two-tone effect.

It can be worn properly, yet also welcomes a more relaxed styling.
Rather than reproducing the old elegance of France as it was, we created this Forestière to be naturally thrown on in everyday life today.
