— Atto Vannucci / Sette Pieghe —
Atto Vannucci is a tie brand created by Sette Pieghe, a company founded in Florence, Italy, in 2011 by Kenji Kaga.
The technique that defines the brand is “Sette Pieghe,” in which fabric nearly twice the size of that used for a standard tie is folded seven times and constructed without interlining.
Conventional ties use interlining to stabilize their thickness and shape, while Sette Pieghe creates the necessary body and dimension by folding the fabric itself into multiple layers.
Each tie is entirely handmade by skilled artisans.
By sewing each one by hand while responding to the fabric’s firmness and softness, the tie takes on a scarf-like lightness and supple feel unlike one whose shape is fixed by interlining.
When tied, the fabric gently billows, creating natural volume from the knot through the V-zone.
This three-dimensional character is unique to Sette Pieghe and cannot be found in conventional three-fold ties.
For this occasion, we created a panel stripe exclusively for cliché.
The fabric is made from silk cotton.
The refined sheen and smoothness of silk are combined with cotton’s lightness and moderate firmness, resulting in a fabric that retains its definition even within the softness of a Sette Pieghe tie.
The stripes were carefully adjusted in width, height, and placement.
We considered their position within the V-zone so that, when the jacket is buttoned, the tie appears at first glance to be a solid tie.
Close the jacket and it looks like a quiet solid tie; open it and the stripes emerge.
This is a Sette Pieghe made for cliché, allowing you to appreciate both the character of the fabric and the way the pattern reveals itself.
