10eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa under the concept of “beautiful tools.”

Based on the idea that “a beautiful tool is an accumulation of beautiful parts,” every aspect is reconsidered, down to a single screw, and each pair of glasses is constructed from “10 special parts” carefully selected over more than three years.

This is the “V” series, made using titanium sheet metal.

Sheet metal frames, made from a single sheet of titanium, tend to be thin and appear flat by nature. In the V series, deliberately substantial titanium sheet metal is used, while a unique manufacturing process achieves both smoothness and strength.

This added thickness makes it possible to create three-dimensional movement in the edges and bridge, rather than simply cutting the frame from a single sheet. From the front, the frame has the clean appearance of sheet metal, but as the angle changes, transitions between surfaces and subtle shading emerge. Slight nuances are created within its flat structure.

The surface finish also differs depending on the color.

“16S” has a matte finish with reduced gloss achieved through IP plating.
“19S” incorporates a painting method also used in automobiles, resulting in a glossy, smooth appearance.

Even with frames made from the same titanium, a matte texture that seems to absorb light creates a different impression when worn from a glossy texture that reflects it.

It is precisely because of the simple structure of a single sheet of metal that every detail is carefully considered, from the thickness, edges, and bridge to the surface finish.

The V series retains the lightness of sheet metal while bringing a sculptural beauty to the frame.
