10eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa, based on the concept of “beautiful tools.”

Guided by the belief that “a beautiful tool is an assemblage of beautiful parts,” the brand reexamines every material and structure, down to a single screw, and constructs each pair of glasses from “10 special parts” carefully selected over more than three years.

The areas that touch the nose feature shell pads carved from natural shell.
Hexagram-shaped β-titanium Torx screws, designed to resist loosening, are used, while lightweight and highly elastic β-titanium is also employed for the temples.

Titanium is used for the fine components as well, including the rims, bridge, and endpieces.
In addition, a 925 sterling silver balancer is placed at the temple ends, serving not only as decoration but also to fine-tune the weight balance when worn.

The lenses are 10eyevan’s original 2-base-curve polarized lenses.
The shallow curve allows the lines of the frame itself to appear natural, while the polarization reduces reflected light and glare.

Viewed individually, each is an extremely small component.
Yet glasses are an assemblage of these small parts.

Rather than designing only the parts that stand out, 10eyevan gives each element—from the screws, pads, hinges, and lenses onward—a reason for its choice of material and structure.

This pair gives tangible form, down to the finest detail, to 10eyevan’s philosophy of “beautiful tools.”
