10eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa based on the concept of “beautiful tools.”

Based on the idea that “a beautiful tool is an assembly of beautiful parts,” every detail, from the individual screws onward, is reconsidered, and one pair of glasses is constructed from “10 special parts” selected over a period of more than three years.

The parts that rest on the nose are shell pads carved from natural mother-of-pearl.
The hinges are shell-shaped, inspired by seashells, while the screws are β-titanium Torx screws with a six-pointed star shape designed to resist loosening.

Lightweight, highly elastic β-titanium is also used for the temples, while titanium is selected for smaller components such as the rims, bridge, and split rivets according to the role each part serves.
In addition, 925 sterling silver balancers are placed at the temple ends to fine-tune the weight distribution when worn.

The lenses are 10eyevan's original two-curve polarized lenses.
The shallow curve presents the frame's delicate lines naturally, while the polarization helps reduce reflected light and glare.

Even for small parts such as the screws, pads, and hinges—components that usually go almost unnoticed—there is a reason for the choice of material and a function to fulfill.

Rather than making the glasses beautiful by adding decoration, the design pursues everything necessary in a tool and creates one pair of glasses from the resulting whole.

This pair is the concept of “beautiful tools” championed by 10eyevan, given direct physical form.
