10 eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa under the concept of “beautiful tools.”
Based on the belief that “a beautiful tool is an assemblage of beautiful parts,” every component, down to the smallest screw, was reconsidered in terms of materials and construction. Each pair of glasses is made from “10 special parts” carefully selected over more than three years.
These include shell nose pads carved from natural shell, β-titanium Torx screws and temples, titanium rims and bridge, and an 18K gold or silver balancer that fine-tunes the weight distribution when worn.
Each part is not merely beautiful as decoration; it has a clear functional purpose.
Through the accumulation of these details, a single “beautiful tool” called 10 eyevan is created.
NO.5 is a round frame with softly curving lines.
The color is 1S SILVER.
The slender, delicate metal frame paired with the hard, cool tone of silver gives the classic round shape a clean, quiet impression.
Although round is a distinctive shape, the frame lines have been kept as fine as possible.
Rather than making the glasses themselves assertive, the balance is light, leaving only thin lines of metal across the face.
The details include hexagram-shaped β-titanium Torx screws and shell pads made from natural shell.
A 925 sterling silver balancer is set at the end of each temple, with consideration given not only to the appearance but also to the weight distribution when worn.
This time, the NO.5 comes with its dedicated clip-on sunglasses.
The clip-on features 10 eyevan's distinctive slide-on construction. Attached along the contours of the frame, it allows the glasses to be used as sunglasses without changing the frame.
The clip's rims are also SILVER, matching the frame.
They do not appear visually detached when attached and form a combination that preserves the delicate, slender outline of the NO.5.
Paired with it are BLUE tinted lenses.
With the clear lenses, these are quiet glasses defined only by fine SILVER lines. Add the clip-on, and the blue transforms the impression so dramatically that it is hard to believe it is the same frame.
