Angel Ring〈K10WG × K18YG〉
Angel Ring features a rounded form combining two different types of gold: K10 white gold and K18 yellow gold.
For this special version, cliché commissioned a change to the placement of the materials. K10 white gold is used on the visible exterior, while K18 yellow gold is used on the inner surface, hidden from view when the ring is worn.
INSIDE OUT。
Generally, when the aim is to highlight gold’s beautiful color, it is often placed on the exterior. This time, however, that approach has been reversed. The exterior has a quiet silvery white tone with restrained ornamentation. Only when the ring is turned over does the deep gold color of K18 yellow gold appear.
For most of the time it is worn, that golden color remains unseen. Yet when the ring is removed, turned over absentmindedly, or when its inner surface happens to peek through as the finger moves, the color usually kept hidden reveals itself just a little.
This is a ring that gives meaning not to the use of gold itself, but to where the gold is used.
K10 white gold is characterized by its calm silvery white color and firm texture. It gives definition to the rounded form and lends a natural tension to the restrained exterior. By contrast, the K18 yellow gold used inside is characterized by its warm, deep golden color. The quiet white of the exterior and the soft gold of the interior - two distinct expressions coexist within a single ring.
Designed to be worn on the little finger, Angel Ring has a substantial volume yet avoids sharp edges, taking shape through soft, curved surfaces. It maintains the presence of a classic ring while achieving a balance that does not make only the fingertip appear too prominent. Although the metal has a distinct presence, it is designed to blend naturally with the skin.
This ring also holds another story, invisible from the outside.
The interior is decorated with delicate engraving inspired by “angels exchanging messages at night.” The exterior remains entirely simple, while the interior preserves a story. This contrast is another defining feature of Angel Ring.
The interior is also engraved with a serial number and year. Although each is an Angel Ring, a different number and moment in time remain on every piece. In a place normally hidden from everyone’s view, the record of when that ring was made is preserved.
AVM is a jewelry brand based in Nemuro, Hokkaido, where Hiromichi Furukawa handcrafts each piece individually. He draws forms from natural objects, old designs, and things that happen to catch his attention, then translates them into materials such as metal and horn.
Angel Ring, too, is not a ring that is complete with only what can be seen from the outside. On the exterior is the quiet white of rounded K10 white gold. Inside are the golden color of K18 yellow gold, angels exchanging words at night, and the individual number and year assigned to that single piece.
