Hunter Ring〈K10WG × K18YG〉
K10 white gold and K18 yellow gold. Hunter Ring features a substantial form combining two different types of gold.
For this edition, cliché commissioned a special version with the arrangement of the materials reversed.
The visible exterior is made of K10 white gold. The inside, hidden when the ring is worn, is made of K18 yellow gold.
INSIDE OUT.
Generally, when the beautiful color of gold is to be showcased, it is often placed on the outside. This time, however, we reversed that way of thinking.
The exterior has a quiet silver-white tone with restrained decoration. Only when the ring is turned over does the deep gold of the K18 yellow gold appear.
For most of the time it is worn, that gold remains unseen.
Yet when the ring is removed, casually turned over, or when its inner surface peeks through with the movement of the fingers, the gold that is usually hidden reveals itself just slightly.
Not gold meant to be displayed constantly, but a beauty born precisely because it exists in an unseen place.
This is a ring that gives meaning not to the use of gold itself, but to the choice of where to use it.
K10 white gold is distinguished by its subdued silver-white color and hard, crisp texture. It brings definition to the substantial form and lends a natural sense of tension to the restrained exterior.
The K18 yellow gold used on the inside, by contrast, is characterized by a warm, deep gold color. The quiet white of the exterior and the soft gold of the interior: two distinct expressions coexist within a single ring.
This ring also holds another story, invisible from the outside.
The name HUNTER was inspired by a story by author Ursula K. Le Guin.
The deer is not merely something to be hunted. It appears before the hunter of its own will, and one who does not understand this is not a true hunter in the deepest sense.
This philosophy, encompassing not only the strength to bring down prey but also reverence for nature and life, is expressed through the engraving of a moonlit forest and deer on the inside of the ring.
The interior is engraved with intricate details that could never be imagined from the simple exterior.
It is also a place that no one can see once the ring is worn.
AVM is a jewelry brand based in Nemuro, Hokkaido, where Hiro道 Furukawa handcrafts each piece individually. He draws forms from natural objects, old motifs, and things that happen to come into his hands, then translates them into materials such as metal and horn.
Hunter Ring is not simply a ring combining two precious metals.
On the outside is the quiet white of K10 white gold. Inside are the gold of K18 yellow gold and a deer standing in a moonlit forest.
Despite its substantial form, the most important elements are kept in a place that cannot be seen.
Adornment that exists not to be shown, but because you know it is there.
Only the person wearing it knows the story within.
