Wool Forestière Jacket〔GRAY〕

— Super 120’s Wool / Forestière Jacket —

A reconstruction, through cantáte’s interpretation, of the Forestière jacket—one of the styles emblematic of Parisian ARNYS (アルニス).

While retaining the Forestière’s distinctive collar and pockets, along with its relaxed presence, we have reworked everything from the materials and construction to the internal structure.

The outer fabric is a twill made from Super 120’s wool.
After weaving, it is repeatedly fulled and napped over approximately two months, allowing the fibers to settle gradually.

The fabric retains the suppleness of fine wool while gaining a soft, substantial fullness.
Its napped surface creates gentle tonal depth, bringing a rich expression to the neat twill.

The interior is not finished with a single lining throughout.
Three fabrics—cotton flannel, cotton-rayon, and a fabric made from raw cotton-silk yarn—are used selectively according to each area and its function.

The collar and details feature soft, finely grained Entre Fino lamb suede.
Layering the suede’s smooth nap over the wool’s softly full surface creates contrasting textures within the same overall softness.

We have also incorporated extensive handwork into the construction and finishing, much of it nearly invisible from the outside.
Rather than refining only what can be seen, we have ensured that, when the garment is turned inside out, the logic behind the choice of materials and construction remains evident.

Rather than simply reproducing the Forestière as a perfected existing form, we have reassembled it from the fabric developed over two months to the smallest details of its interior finishing.

This jacket places an old French design in the present, reinterpreted as a cantáte garment.
