Atto Vannucci is a tie brand created by Settepieghe, founded in Florence, Italy, in 2011 by Kenji Kaga.
The brand’s signature is the “Sette Pieghe,” made by using nearly twice the amount of fabric found in a conventional tie and constructing it with seven folds, without interlining.
Conventional ties use interlining to stabilize their thickness and shape, whereas the Sette Pieghe creates the necessary thickness and dimensionality by folding the fabric itself over and over.
Each tie is fully handmade by skilled artisans.
By sewing each one by hand while carefully assessing the fabric’s structure and softness, the tie acquires a scarf-like lightness and soft feel when knotted—unlike ties whose shape is fixed by interlining.
When tied, the fabric gently billows, creating natural volume from the knot through the V-zone.
This dimensional expression is unique to the Sette Pieghe and is not found in conventional three-fold ties.
For this edition, we created a panel stripe pattern as a cliché exclusive.
The fabric is made of 100% silk.
Its sheen changes depending on the way and angle the light falls, further enhancing the Sette Pieghe’s soft dimensionality.
The stripes were carefully adjusted in terms of width, height, and placement.
When the jacket is buttoned, the pattern is positioned so that the tie initially appears to be a solid tie, with the placement also considered in relation to how it shows within the V-zone.
With the jacket closed, it appears like a quiet solid tie; when the jacket is opened, the stripes emerge.
A Sette Pieghe created for cliché, giving a single tie two distinct expressions.
