EYEVAN began in 1972 with the concept of “eyewear to wear.”

Among its collections, EYEVAN 7285 was born in 2013 by disassembling and reassembling the components, based on the designs and manufacturing methods of “EYEVAN CRAFT,” which took shape from what the craftsmen of the time truly wanted to create, using their exceptional skills.

Everything from planning and design to manufacturing is carried out in Japan.
The brand name “7285” was inspired by a respect for the products and philosophy developed between 1972, when EYEVAN was established, and 1985, when it expanded globally.

EYEVAN 7285 “340.”

This design is a reworking of “340,” one of the brand’s signature models.

The front rim has been changed to a medium-thick profile, paired with newly developed, slightly slimmer temple components.
While giving the front a balanced presence, the volume from front to back has been adjusted so that it does not appear heavy when viewed from the side.

The hinge is also an original piece made specifically for this model.

The design was inspired by the zipper of a MA-1 manufactured in the 1960s.
Its form was drawn from a small metal component of military wear and reinterpreted as a hinge for eyewear, a part with an entirely different function.

The front features 2+1 PINs, while the part that rests on the nose uses patented original bifurcated titanium pads.
Though they may appear to be small details at first glance, each component is meticulously designed as part of the overall frame rather than relying on off-the-shelf parts.

The sunglasses use original Japan-made “EYEVAN CURVE LENS” lenses.
Their distinctive color is custom blended with materials such as metallic particles, then formed one by one from molten glass.

Rather than looking only at the shape of the frame, the hinge, PINs, pads, and other small components are considered as a single, unified design.

This model reassembles the 340 masterpiece through the technology and design philosophy of EYEVAN 7285 today.
