10eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa with the concept of “beautiful tools.”
Based on the idea that “a beautiful tool is an assembly of beautiful parts,” each material and structural element is carefully considered, and one pair of glasses is constructed from “10 special parts” selected over a period of more than three years.
This is the FAT RIM (thick-rimmed) model from the Celluloid Collection.
Celluloid is a material with a hard, substantial feel, a distinctive luster, and rich, dimensional tones.
For the FAT RIM, the rims are made thicker than those of the conventional no.2 III, allowing the character of the celluloid itself to be felt more fully.
Rather than simply making them thicker, the volume has been carefully adjusted so they do not appear heavy when worn.
They have a strong presence while maintaining a balance that keeps the glasses from looking detached from the face.
At first glance, the shape is a refined Wellington.
Look closely at the outline, however, and you will find a subtle polygonal nuance. Based on the classic Wellington, the fine combination of straight and curved lines creates an expression distinct from a mere reproduction of vintage eyewear.
The pads, emblematic of 10eyevan, are also made of silver on this model.
The combination of hard silver with lustrous, smooth celluloid allows you to enjoy the contrast between the materials.
Bold, but never overpowering.
Classic, but never dated.
The FAT RIM allows you to fully appreciate the presence of celluloid while naturally settling into the wearer’s face.
※A dedicated eyeglass case and cleaner are included with the product.
