10eyevan is an eyewear brand launched in 2017 by designer Hirotaka Nakagawa with the concept of “beautiful tools.”

Based on the idea that “a beautiful tool is an assemblage of beautiful parts,” every detail—from a single screw onward—is reconsidered in terms of materials and construction. Each pair of glasses is made from “10 special parts” carefully selected over a period of more than three years.

This is the “V” series, made using titanium sheet metal.

Sheet metal frames, made from a single sheet of titanium, generally tend to have a thin, planar appearance.
For the V series, 10eyevan deliberately uses substantial titanium sheet metal and employs a unique production method to give it both smoothness and strength.

The added thickness makes it possible to do more than simply cut a frame from a single sheet; the edges and bridge can be shaped with a three-dimensional sense of movement.
Depending on the viewing angle, the appearance of the surfaces and the way they catch the light change, creating a soft sense of dimension throughout the frame despite its sheet-metal construction.

Another distinctive feature is that the finishing process itself varies by color.

“16S” has a matte finish with reduced gloss achieved through IP plating.
“19S” incorporates a coating method also used in the automotive industry, resulting in a smooth, lustrous surface.

Although they use the same titanium and share the same shape, the frames look markedly different depending on the surface finish.

Precisely because of its simple construction, made from a single sheet of metal, every detail—from the thickness and edges to the texture of the surface—is carefully refined.

The V series retains the lightness of sheet metal while also embodying the beauty of a three-dimensional form.
