— Reconstructed 1950s-style Denim —

The denim fabric has been reconstructed from a cantáte perspective, based on the 1950s LEVI’S 501XX.

Building on the rugged character of the original era while anticipating summer wear, we adjusted the warp tension and yarn count.

While retaining denim’s substantial weight, it has been finished with a dry, lightweight feel against the skin.

The black denim is sulfur-dyed through to the weft.

Even as the fading progresses, its character will continue to develop into a richly nuanced expression reminiscent of vintage denim, rather than becoming monotonous.

It is a new proposal for a signature fabric at cantáte, combining tradition and innovation.

While faithfully retaining classic details such as the front pleats, single pocket, and rear cinch back,

The silhouette has been reworked to suit the current mood.

The finishing evokes natural aging equivalent to “one to two years of regular wear.”

By keeping the fading restrained and never overdone, we aimed for a look that, while new, already feels naturally broken in and settled to the body.

It offers a slightly different pleasure from developing denim from scratch:
