— 10oz Selvedge Denim —
Made from lightweight 10oz selvedge denim.
The warp yarns are rope-dyed indigo, while the weft is gray, creating a color tone with depth and lightness.
The black version pairs sulfur-dyed black warp yarns with off-white weft yarns for an appearance that does not feel overly heavy.
The fabric retains a moderate firmness while developing natural wear patterns and fading through repeated wear and washing,
offering an easy, refined evolution over time distinct from heavier denim.
At first glance, they appear to be authentic painter pants.
But on closer inspection, details such as overlapping stitches and side-seam felled stitching visible on the outside reveal,
in places, specifications that might reasonably make you wonder, “Wait, is this a second?”
To expose the selvedge, which would normally be concealed,
we deliberately removed the folder from the felled-seam machine before sewing.
It is a design that challenges the factory, but fully aware of that,
we added a distinctly cantáte-like twist by finishing all 100 pairs in a deliberately “second-quality” style.
The zipper uses a vintage-inspired bell-shaped TALON pull.
The silhouette features a deep rise and a straight leg that falls cleanly from the hip.
Rolling them up to reveal the selvedge is another way to enjoy these trousers.

When someone asks, be sure to answer proudly.
They look like vintage clothing, yet exist nowhere else.
