Rythme Bangle – BOLD 〈SV950〉
A SILVER 950 bangle created with whale ribs as its motif.
Against its gently curving line, one side retains a sharply rising ridge.
Angular surfaces and rounded surfaces coexist within a single outline, creating an organic form.
BOLD is a model that expresses this form with substantial width and volume.
Its width and thickness allow broad reflections of light across the soft curves, while a fine, intense glint runs along the sharp ridge.
Even within the same SILVER 950, each surface catches the light differently, changing its expression whenever the wrist moves.
The origin of this form was a whale bone that Hiromichi Furukawa found on the shore.
He is said to have remembered the shape and feel of the bone in his hands, shaping it not by accurately reproducing a drawing, but by relying on the tactile impression that remained in his hands.
Bones formed in nature are neither perfectly straight nor uniformly curved.
Without overly correcting their irregularity, it has been retained in the jewelry as soft curves and sharp ridges.
SILVER 950 is used for the material.
With BOLD’s substantial volume, the finished piece conveys even the weight and coolness of the silver itself.
As it is worn, fine scratches and luster develop on the surface, and its expression gradually changes according to how each person uses it.
