KNIGHT RING
A ring crafted with armor as its motif.
Starting with a single sheet of metal, rolled thin, the form is raised and shaped into a three-dimensional structure that embraces the finger, with the center subtly contoured.
Although its motif is something hard and architectural—armor—the material itself is thin.
As a result, the ring has a sharp outline visually, while its form reveals the suppleness characteristic of metal when worn.
No unnecessary decoration has been added to the exterior, which is finished with a low-luster matte surface.
Meanwhile, on the interior—almost entirely concealed once worn—fine engravings depict a knight, the sun, the moon, and ordinary people.
Among them, the words “sign…J” are inscribed in small letters.
A motif said to be a symbol once used by alchemists is discreetly placed where it cannot be seen from the outside.
The exterior is quiet and hard-edged.
Inside, there is a fine story and a subtle sheen.
Rather than decorating what is visible, information is left precisely in the places hidden once the ring is worn. This contrast between the outside and the inside is another defining feature of KNIGHT RING.
AVM is a jewelry brand based in Nemuro, Hokkaido, where each piece is handcrafted by Hiromichi Furukawa.
Shapes are drawn from natural objects, antique designs, and things encountered by chance, then translated into materials such as metal and horn.
KNIGHT is not a ring that simply reproduces a suit of armor in miniature.
Its protective structures and contours are extracted and reworked from a single thin sheet of metal into a form that embraces the finger.
On the outside is the quiet strength of armor.
Inside are the stories of knights, the sun, the moon, and people.
KNIGHT RING contains both within a single ring.
