About Rios of Mercedes
Founded in 1853, custom bootmaker Rios of Mercedes (pronounced “Rios of Mercedes”).
With its factory in Mercedes, Texas, the company continues to produce the highest-quality boots by preserving traditional manufacturing methods to this day.
Rios boots do not contain the cork commonly used in boots; instead, fabric is built into them. This gives them excellent flexibility, and combined with the softness of the sole, makes them exceptionally comfortable to walk in. Another distinctive feature is the upward curve of the toe. The toes are slightly raised from the outset, but the curve becomes more pronounced with wear, developing into a unique “spring toe.” With sneaker-like comfort and versatility, these are boots you will find yourself reaching for again and again.
Sundance Gold
Quiet and taciturn, yet able to change the situation in an instant once he drew his gun. These boots are inspired by the legendary gunslinger—the Sundance Kid.
Roughout suede and smooth leather are combined over a base color midway between camel and mustard. The contrast of light and shadow evokes Sundance kicking up dust beneath the western sun. The softly napped suede conveys warmth, while the smooth leather carries a composed sheen, reflecting his dual nature.
The low-part toe shape and stable heel provide confidence in a wide range of settings, from horseback riding to walking around town. As they are worn, the color grows deeper, transforming from mere flashy gold into “gold that gains trust with every experience.”
