The first thing that catches your eye when you step into cliché is the rows of cantate denim.
It is a steadfast classic that has been cherished for many years within the brand.
Currently, we offer a total of five styles: two jacket styles and three trouser styles.
The ones I own are “WWⅡ T-Back Jacket” and “Denim 1955 Trousers”。
When I bought them a year and a half ago, I was in the mood for an oversized fit, so I chose these two,
and lately I’ve also been interested in a slightly slimmer silhouette, so I’m considering adding another pair.

First up is the 3rd-type Trucker Jacket.
With its relatively compact shape, it’s perhaps the form that first comes to mind when you hear “jean jacket”.
This is a piece I’d recommend to anyone who wants to wear a denim jacket in a masculine yet refined way.
The shoulder line also sits beautifully, so even when worn casually, it doesn’t look too casual,
It pairs exceptionally well with slacks and leather shoes.
And what’s different from a vintage piece is, above all, the hem buttons fasten beautifully.
The underarm seam allowance doesn’t hurt even when it presses against the bodypoint.
Even this alone increases how often I wear it.

Because I’m tall, my options are limited to 46 or 48.
The roomier 48, or the 46, which gives a stronger sense of a classic look.
Both are excellent, but considering wearing a cardigan or outerwear over it, what I’m feeling right now is the tighter fit of 46!

in terms of measurements, there is no difference between the knee and hem widths, making them straight-leg。
The hem is only slightly flared in appearance, so
there is none of the flashy character or quirkiness* typically associated with the term *“flare denim”.
For those who are not comfortable with flare pants or are unfamiliar with them,
surely easy to incorporate without hesitation.

When I first saw them, I was surprised by how extreme the whiskers were.

When I asked Matsushima, “Why are vintage whiskers so intensely pronounced?”,

In other words, the cleaning lady would finish them by starching them without permission, thinking, “They’re uniforms, so wear them properly.”
That must be why they developed such intensely pronounced aging.”
