For the fabric, we use cantáte’s signature gabardine, woven at high density from 100% fine wool.
By avoiding excessive twist in the yarn and weaving it carefully at a low speed, we bring out the natural fullness and lightness of the wool.
With a dry hand and supple drape, it is comfortable to wear in almost every season except the height of summer.
A lustrous finish is applied to create a natural sheen and a sense of depth without excessive shine.
The jacket is designed with a light and refined presence in mind.
While based on classic construction, including notch lapels,
curved dart placement, rounded shoulder lines, and rain-drop sleeves add a contemporary softness.
Designed with Japan’s hot, humid spring and summer in mind, it nevertheless offers exceptional drape and tailoring.
We aimed for a balance that looks naturally polished without feeling overly formal.
The trousers make the most of the same ultra-fine wool yarn, creating a silhouette in which fluid drape and structure coexist.
The waist is designed without belt loops, and the side buckles allow the fit to be finely adjusted.
The generous ease from the carefully shaped seat through the thighs,
followed by a natural taper, is a stable, characteristic cantáte trouser design.
They pair naturally with leather shoes as well as slightly more casual footwear, offering an elegance that is easy to incorporate into everyday wear.
While each piece is highly complete on its own,
the suit takes on a distinct atmosphere when worn together.
