What a brand full of love.

なんて愛に溢れたブランドなんだろう。

No problem, coveralls.

A really good turtleneck.

I'm moved by that, I long for it.

Pierre Jeanneret.

The entrance to splurge.

Hello.

This is Kinoshita from cliché.

I tend to like domestic brands, so

Looking back, I have HED MAYNER, STUDIO NICHOLSON,

The only import was RIER, which I will introduce this time.

I think each of them has a clear background and is reflected in their clothes, which is why they are able to go as far as to buy them.

Today we will talk about the brand "RIER".

I had only seen it on Instagram and thought it looked cool, so I had never seen it in real life until last year.

Even if I wanted to buy it, there was no agent, so I was unable to hold an exhibition in Japan...

That's what I was thinking when I went to another exhibition and miraculously came across this brand through a joint event.

I was surprised when I saw the real thing, and it was just too cool. There was no madness.

- RIER -

RIER is based in France.

The designer is Andreas Steiner, and the brand started in 2018.

It is characterized by an androgynous approach that reflects the traditions and aesthetics of South Tyrol, which is located between Austria and Italy, where he was born, and incorporates the lifestyle of a modern metropolis.

The theme is TYROLEAN PUNK.

"TYROLEAN" means Tyrolean tradition, and "PUNK" means a reaction to preconceived ideas.

The neutral collection, which can be described as genderless, is a simple and easy-to-match wardrobe, yet accented with ethnic local essences, creating a style that doesn't feel out of place.

It is also called genderless clothing, but when it comes to traditional costumes, you don't have to worry about gender boundaries that much. More accessible to many people.

A lineup of clothing that truly exudes patriotism.

I heard briefly that Grace, the designer of Wales Bonner in the UK, also pays close attention to her work. I heard that such vibrant creations attract people's attention.

It's quite a force in the industry.

RIER has a somewhat noble image, and when I look at other stores that carry it, I get the impression that it often blends into the luxury category.

Depending on how you look at it, the lineup looks solid and chic.

Also available at our store are:

Because you can see through the background and the creator's feelings.

At the exhibition, there were more models than before, which was a problem.

However, my favorite line is mainly the natural wool/fleece collection.

What we have prepared this time is a lineup centered on new products and their lines.

English? I can't read it.

This is a sentence that tends to sound like this, but explanations are written for each item.

The main things I ordered were:

・KEYHOLDER NECKLACE

・WALKER FELTED

・NATURAL FLEECE

・WALKER FLOWER

From 4 categories.

"WALKER GILET UTILITY CROP"

COL: IVORY/TREEBARK

¥88,000 (TAX IN)

Although it is a simple and flat item, it is a vest that completely changes the atmosphere with the piping and bi-color accents.

Until now, the width has been relatively narrow, but this season it has been introduced as a new model called "UTILITY". The ones with "UTILITY" on them have a wider body and have a hip-style front.

The "CROP" model is also a new model, with an extremely short length and a very fashionable finish.

At first glance, the vest looks thin and fluffy, but it is soft and woven like knit, giving it an attractive finish.

Like LODEN, it has a texture similar to loden wool (compressed wool fabric) and retains heat well. It's easy to layer because it doesn't get bulky, and it's a great ally in terms of appearance and heat retention.

It is said that it dates back to the Middle Ages, when Austrian craftsmen began producing this unique wool fabric.

It is most commonly used in "Roden coats" for hunting, which are very popular in France, Italy, and the Tyrol region where he was born.

It contains a lot of oil, is highly water repellent and windproof, and is also resistant to wrinkles and odors.

Water repellency is not due to any processing, but is the result of a combination of the dense weave and oil content.

In ancient times, it was used for hunting. Now I have citizenship in my lifestyle as well.

As I will introduce later, the bottom line is that it is also suitable for outdoor activities.

"WALKER JACKET UTILITY CROP"

COL:TREEBARK

¥93,500 (TAX IN)

A sleeved version of the vest.

Only one color is available.

Compared to the vest, the arms are a little thicker because the arm circumference has been adjusted.

The armholes are inside out instead of piping like the vest.

This type of collarless style is sometimes seen in women's clothing, but rarely in men's clothing.

I think it gives the most outstanding impression among the plain styles, which is hard to imagine from the inorganic atmosphere of the color and construction.

Just adding one thing can make a big difference.

"WALKER JACKET UTILITY"

COL:BLACK/FLOWER

BLACK ¥126,500 (TAX IN)

FLOWER ¥159,500 (TAX IN)

Next is the middle length. Since it looks like a half-coat, it is also positioned like a coat when worn.

The same goes for the M's China jacket, but I think the combination of piping and no collar gives it an ethnic feel, and I really like it.

The reason why only this type of FLOWER is available is that it can be used as an inner layer like a vest. Instead, I want the floral pattern to be on full display.

This floral pattern is quite iconic in South Tyrol. What we call white rice is the most popular.

The types of flowers vary from village to village, and the floral patterns used in the Alps are only worn by men.

What kind of flower is this? If anyone knows please let me know. .

The floral pattern and silver concho buttons are clearly a costume, but the new model has buffalo buttons with the brand's logo. Updated to be more modern and familiar.

"POLOR FLEECE"

COL:RED/INDIGO

¥126,500 (TAX IN)

Fleece half-zip pullover made from natural wool pile.

This model is a classic, but since the main type was zip-up jackets, I chose this one this season.

The zip-up is a little tall and the width of the body is not that wide.

On the other hand, pullovers have a wide body and have elastic sleeves and hems, giving them a distinctive rounded shape, giving them a sporty look.

Ours comes in two colors, but this model actually comes in about seven colors.

For this one, I chose the existing RED and the new color INDIGO, which I personally feel like. I don't wear a coat over this, of course it's warm so I'll wear it as my main item.

Anyway, let's go with a stronger color.

Hiking is the most obvious form of culture in their region.

It starts with climbing, and in the winter, it's winter sports, skiing, etc.

There are other things like nomadism, hunting, and farming, but when we spend time in what we call a villa-like place, we complete the total styling with trunks, long thick wool socks that are similar to loose socks, and a top like this fleece. .

It has a style unique to them, with heat retention and ease of movement.

The design is also inspired by the traditional wardrobe worn by climbers.

This item that comes with outdoor/sports elements has been updated with riri zippers to give it a luxurious feel.

Patriotism, cultural inheritance, and unique items that are all typical of RIER.

Of course, this necklace too.

"KEYHOLDER NECKLACE"

COL:BLACK

(Right) BRAID SMALL ¥71,500 (TAX IN)

(Left) TRAPEZE CURLS ¥71,500 (TAX IN)

I'm in love with it. I was so in love with it that I bought it too.

A geometric key chain necklace made of full vegetable double tanned leather.

This item is inspired by folklore leather suspenders that have been popular in South Tyrol for a long time.

The embossed floral pattern that is sometimes seen in French vintage gives it a great atmosphere.

The length is adjustable, so you can incorporate it into your styling, attach keys, etc. while using it.

The top part is made of two layers of leather to make it thicker, and each piece is carefully handmade.

It's a little pricey, but it gives off an overwhelming vibe from your neck.

Not only the floral patterns, but also all the products such as fleece and wool are familiar to local people.

If we were to replace it in Japan, it would be as popular as white rice. RIER takes a more contemporary approach based on familiar clothing and lifestyles such as kimonos.

It is rare to even know about its history in this way. Originally, I wasn't particularly interested in it, and I didn't do any research on it, but now I find it very interesting and interesting.

Not only will you gain new knowledge, but the persuasive power of the clothes made from that history will remain in your possession as clothes that you will be attached to.

Clothes are something to dress up.

The lifestyle itself.

But sometimes it can also be used as a "tool to communicate."

Of course, the opposite is also true.

It is an expression of the desire to inherit culture and pass it on to future generations. It's a brand full of love for family and patriotism.

In that respect, the brands we carry at cliché have many similarities.

In my mind, this is one of the brands that I want to remain around for a long time and that I want many people to know about.

It will be uploaded online at the same time as the blog post.

Please check it out.
