STUDIO NICHOLSON, which has been available since 22AW, has started arriving with a rich lineup.
This season's theme is "Rave Culture." 22AW has really drawn me in with this.
The theme is "Uptown Rave," which evokes the 90's grunge and New York sophistication, and focuses on the sense of security and unity that comes from the comfort and familiarity of belonging to a group. It expresses a tribal feeling that makes you feel like you are part of a group with the same will.
This collection is influenced by the portraits of Gus Vant Saint, a film director and photographer, and the free, open, baggy style of rave culture in the 90s.
Until now, loose fitting has always been an icon of Nicholson, and this theme seems to enhance the persuasiveness of looseness.
"Gus Vant Saint" happens to be directed by a director who happens to have a lot of favorite movies, and he often collects photos from movies from the 90s to use as reference, so the content was a bit mixed.
While the style is reminiscent of Keanu Reeves, River Phoenix, and scenes from those movies, Nicholson's clean, urban essence takes it to a brand new approach.
