“Top-tier quality disguised as a B-grade item”

“What I thought was a B-grade item turned out to be an A-grade trick.”

When you first see these trousers, you may feel a little puzzled.

Because……

The stitching runs wild in doubles, the felled seams miss their mark, and the selvedge peeks out──

A collection of details that look as though they were sewing mistakes.

Could it be that I am being sold a B-grade item…?

But look closely.

Every one of those details is actually “intentional.”

If only one pair out of 100 had this look, it would be a B-grade item.

But what if all 100 pairs had this look?

It can only be called an A-grade item.

It is, in short, a slightly absurd series.

　

《WW II Work Trousers》is a pair of painter pants made from 10-ounce lightweight denim.

However, these are not simply light, easygoing denim pants.

By removing the folder (an attachment for felled seams) before sewing—a specification that makes artisans weep—we create an appearance that would normally be impossible.

Not “proper and beautiful,” but “cool because it is misaligned.”

we aimed for precisely that kind of finish.

　

While grounded in the universality of workwear,

We deliberately inserted a “twisted aesthetic” into them.

That was the significance invested in these trousers.

Naturally, no shortcuts were taken with the details.

A TALON bell-shaped zipper is used, with cotton zipper tape.

The fastener is a vintage-style U-shaped closure.

Moreover, the zipper tape is folded and topstitched down using a primitive attachment method.

 

The lower sides of the fly extension and facing are left raw-edged. This, too, is a devilishly clever specification.

 

The coin pocket is left with a raw edge.

You do not have to use it, but occasionally stretch this pocket opening and wear them that way.

It creates a better atmosphere that way.

 

The hidden L-pocket on the reverse uses selvedge.

 

With a straight silhouette that falls with a bold, weighty drop, rolling up the hems reveals the selvedge only on the right leg──(These are my personal pair, so I had the hems altered!)

even that glimpse is in fact based on meticulous calculation.

　

If this had been just one pair among 100,

It might have been processed as, “Sorry, this is a B-grade item.”

But what if everyone were “misaligned” in exactly the same way?

It would no longer be a *“B-grade item,” but a “specification.”*

　

If only one out of 100 were like that, it would be an “error.”

But if all 100 pieces were like that, it would be a “rule.”

This pair of trousers was born from that very reversal in perspective.

　

We live in an age overflowing with products that are ever more orderly and ever more beautiful.
